The design is based on the idea of the mixing board, which evokes the image of houses being slid up and down the hill just as a sliding regulator according to the requests and needs of the dwellers as possible with the slope.
The new design assumes its orientation and scale from the original building structure along the Pauritzer Strasse and reinterprets it into a new spatial structure. Private staircases, which lie across the slope as slide bars, form the circulation among the houses.
The residential houses are defined by a half-level organised split level, whose different levels are joined by a central staircase. Thus a large, ample expansion is possible in the 1.5-storey living room oriented towards the slope. Open, flowing living spaces on different levels along the slope create a living experience. The attractive view of the Altenburg castle is captured in the framing of the house. Terraces as extensions to the living rooms and incised loggias in the upper floors offer diverse open spaces.
